Rochinha Cachaça  ROCHINHA CACHAçA
Just as sultry and alluring, this artisanal version of Brazil's national spirit is made with sugarcane hand-harvested no more than 24 hours earlier, fermented with naturally occurring yeasts and distilled using power generated by burning leftover pulp. This is the real thing. Save the industrial stuff for removing your oily sunscreen.

Made on Cachoeira Farm, an 18th-century Portuguese colonial farmhouse and former coffee plantation surrounded by 1,500 acres of forest, waterfalls, pasture and sugar cane in Rio de Janeiro’s Paraiba Valley. There they chop sugar cane from their own fields, put it through a water-powered mill, ferment the juice with naturally occurring yeast and distill it using power generated by burning the leftover pulp.

Enjoy a super-Caipirinha muddled with sugar and lime. Or try it naked.
