NUX ALPINA WALNUT LIQUEUR 375ML

For a wintry alternative, try this traditional Alpine walnut liqueur, made by the Purkhart family from Weisberg walnuts picked from wild stands near the village of Sankt Peter in der Au. According to a generations-old family recipe, the nuts are then steeped for months in Weinbrand (a grape brandy) along with a variety of spices and alpine botanicals. Great over ice cream or in oatmeal. We love this cocktail,The Raincoat, best of all:

1/2 oz. bourbon (like our Bulleit Bourbon)
3/4 oz. Nux Alpina
1 teaspoon almond syrup (dissolve sugar in hot water and let a cup or so of sliced almonds steep in it for a while.)
Stir all ingredients over a few ice cubes. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
