ARTISAN LAMBRUSCO DUO
This pair of artisan lambruscos, one white and one red, are a special twist on sparkling holiday wines. I often start with the crisp Lini white as a dry aperitif and move to the equally dry Saetti red with a little cheese and salumi. Ryan likes to enjoy them all through dinner. Whatever you prefer, this delicious duo will please both wine connoisseurs as well as those of us who just want a festive way to enjoy the holiday season. For an elegant presentation, this special price includes two bottles are packaged in one of our signature wood boxes.
Not your mother's Lambrusco! Saetti is an organic, limited production (200 cases total) vino frizzante is dry and cherried and the perfect counter to rich and salty salumi and cheeses.
Fabio Lini, the enologist at Cantina Lini, makes this wonderfully light, bright Lambrusco by not allowing any contact with the skins during fermentation. Labrusca" is the Etruscan name for Lambrusco which comes from the Latin labrum, meaning "edge": it is believed that Lambrusco grapes grew naturally along the edges of fields cultivated by the Etruscans for other crops.
Inspired by the wines that local farmers made in Fabio's youth, Labrusca Bianco "has a scent of red apples and white grapes," writes Ray Isle,
wine editor for Food & Wine Magazine, "and a racy zestiness that makes it an ideal aperitif wine."
