Now this is the kind of varietal that works well on the North Fork. Indigenous to the Burgenland region of of Austria, Blaufrankisch (as well as the small amount of Dornfelder blended in here) is much better suited to our particular micro-climate than the majority of merlot and cabernet planted these days. This savory yet fruit-full wine is our current favorite Long Island red from a producer consistently reaching for greatness.
