Cornu Ladoix Vielles Vignes 2013
“The cat” is what the winemaker Edmond Cornu and his family call the distinctive nose of this red Burgundy. “It moves across the palate with a feline grace and has the finesse for which pinot is renowned.” True that. The Ladoix cru receives is hand-harvested, destemmed, racked into small barrel (10% to 15% new oak) and bottled after one (a maximum of two) racking and eighteen months of elevage. The parcel is about ¾ of a hectare in size and the vines are 35 years of more in age. Two barrels (600 bottles) per vintage come to the United States.
