Giovanni Almondo Roero Arneis Vigne Sparse 2024
The Almondo family has been rooted in the hills of Roero for centuries. What began as grape growing has, over the generations, evolved into a true estate, with Domenico Almondo and his sons now farming a mosaic of vineyards: six hectares of Arneis, four of Nebbiolo, a bit of Barbera, and even a sliver of Brachetto that finds its way into their gently sparkling Fosso della Rosa. Giovanni, Domenico’s father, was the first to bottle under the family name, but it’s this new generation that continues to shape the estate’s identity, always with a sharp eye on the vines themselves. From that landscape comes the Arneis Vigne Sparse — a pure and energetic take on Piemonte’s noble white. It’s bright and mineral, with edges of citrus and pear, a touch of almond and white pepper, and a finish that crackles with freshness. An easy way in to the joys of Arneis, and a reminder of why the variety has long been the calling card of Roero
