From Gambellara, not far from where Emanuele grew up, Davide Vignato is producing sharp, mineral-driven wines that reflect the volcanic soils of this overlooked corner of Veneto. Primo Incontro is his take on a traditional sui lieviti sparkling Garganega — fermented with native yeast, no sulfur, no disgorgement. The second fermentation kicks off with a small dose of juice from semi-dried grapes, giving lift and texture without sweetness. Dry, unfiltered, and quietly expressive — a clear take on Garganega from the volcanic hills between Verona and Vicenza.
