In the 19th century, Lessona was Italy’s secret wine gem. Paolo de Marchi’s family, known for Nebbiolo, saw their vineyards abandoned post-war. Paolo and his son Luca revived their estate, Proprietà Sperino, in 1999. In 2005, Luca created Alto Piemonte’s first Nebbiolo rosé, blending Nebbiolo with Vespolina and Croatina. This fresh, aromatic rosé pairs perfectly with pizza and grilled fish, marking Lessona’s cool revival.
