Like many top names in Burgundy—Lafon, de Montille, Leflaive—David Duband wanted the freedom to explore new terroirs at a more accessible level. Nearly two decades after taking over his family’s winery, he launched Les Terres de Phileandre in 2018, named after his twins, Philomène and Léandre. This is the first time we’ve been able to offer a wine from the label, sourced from the very first vineyard Duband chose for the project. True to his style, he works with whole clusters and keeps the oak in check, letting the wine show its natural energy—bright, peppery, and pure.
