Bodegas Chacra Chardonnay Mainque Patagonia 2024
A project between Piero Incisa della Rocchetta (yep, that Sassicaia family) and Burgundy’s Jean-Marc Roulot, Mainqué is Patagonia’s cleanest flex yet. Biodynamically farmed in Río Negro, the 2024 vintage hits that rare note: ripe, electric, and quietly wild. Think lemon curd, pear skin, green apple bite—then chamomile, a whisper of hazelnut, and struck match in the background. It’s got texture from old barrels and concrete eggs, but the acidity keeps it sharp, not soft. This isn’t buttered toast Chardonnay—it’s more mineral-driven daydream. Like Meursault, but with Patagonia wind in its hair. Roast chicken, clams, or nothing at all. Just a big glass and good light.
