Grifalco Grifalco Aglianico 2017
What Sangiovese is to Tuscany (the grape used to make monumental Brunello di Montalcino); Aglianico is to Italy's South. It's their big red grape, capable in the right hands, of making deep age-worthy wines. And transplanted Tuscan winemakers Fabrizio Peccin are those hands. This organic version comes from one of the two most revered volcanic sites for this grape, Monte Vulture (the other is Taurasi). Ruby red, black cherry with savory tannins.
