Antonella Corda Cannonau 2017
From a pioneering female Sardinian winemaker, rich cherry, blackberry & white pepper flavors. One sip of this easy drinking Cannonau (a.k.a. 'Grenache) is like a quick trip to Sardinia's Costa Smeralda. Antonella grew up among the vineyards in a family of winegrowers and founded her own winery in 2010. She has created a boutique winery capable of producing excellent Sardinian wines worthy of representing the region around the world. She believes sustainable cultivation to be the best way for people to coexist with nature, so it can be passed down to the next generation intact. All of this means that organic fertilizers, integrated pest control actions, and sustainable irrigation systems are utilized in the vineyards. The two vineyards that Antonella cultivates are Mitza Manna and Mitsa S’ollastu, inherited from her father, Antonio Argiolas. Vinified in stainless steel and neutral oak with indigenous yeast. Cherry, raspberry, blackberry, rose and a delicate spicy note of white pepper. Soft tannins.
