Wine World for Beginners: The Whole Shebang – A 4-Class Series
Sometimes the world of wine can feel like a planet out of reach—full of difficult terms, hundreds of denominations, and strange fragrances that seem reserved for the elite. But at Pasanella, we believe wine should be for everyone.
That’s why we’re hosting four classes to teach you the basics in a warm, approachable way. With our casual style and professional flair, we’ll share our passion and knowledge of the often complex world of wine—right here in the cozy setting of Pasanella’s tasting room.
Class 1: The Tasting
If words like spicy, full-bodied, young, or tannic aren’t totally clear to you, this class is for you.
Francesco will lead a hands-on tasting experience to help you identify key flavors in wine, giving you the tools to choose the right bottle for any occasion.
Emanuele will interrupt him occasionally—just to keep things fun.
Don’t worry: no one’s asking you to spit the wine.
Class 2: Whites and Oranges
White wine is having a moment—and orange wines have come a long way in recent years, earning their place at the table.
In this session, we’ll explore the wide world of white wines with a special focus on orange wines and the role of oxygen.
Spoiler alert: not all orange wines are funky!
Class 3: Reds
Some reds are best served chilled, others at room temperature. Some are perfect to drink now, others benefit from aging. And when should you decant?
This class will help you confidently select red wines that suit your moment—whether you’re heading to a professional tasting, hosting a fancy dinner, or just enjoying a casual glass in the afternoon.
Class 4: Bubbles
Prosecco, Champagne, Crémant, Charmat, Cava, Pet Nat—not all bubbles are created equal.
Sure, you can make an Aperol Spritz with a vintage Champagne… but should you?
In this final class, you’ll learn how sparkling wines are made and how region and method affect taste and mouthfeel. The possibilities are endless—and the right bottle can completely elevate the experience.
